Lucy Routh grew up in Lancashire and later went on to study Fine Art at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth graduating in 1997. Lucy Routh now lives and works in North Somerset. Lucy Routh has a distinctive style running through all of her work contrasting traditional subject matter with a unique contemporary approach. Lucy Routh''s work is inspired by the environment around her. She chooses to paint subjects that in shape, form and colour are interesting and beautiful to look at. Lucy Routh uses a combination of acrylic paint and ink to create images that are bold, bright and fresh with a sense of space and simplicity. Lucy Routh comments " I apply paint, colour and detail only to the living/natural elements of the subject. The inanimate parts of the painting are left to a line drawing bringing the subject to the fore. I love the intensity and definition of the line; they are fluid allowing movement in the subject.

Julia Adams comments: I use a variety of mixed media to produce my work – household glosses, spray paints, acrylics, inks and various printing techniques, rarely using a paintbrush! I like to apply paint with real freedom and spontaneity to produce paintings that have energy and depth, exploring my passion for surface quality, colour, texture and tactility.” “My series of ‘Interior Spaces’ paintings have been very popular and are constantly evolving. As a starting point I use a found image or one of my own photographs, adding or removing elements as I feel necessary to enhance the composition. I then start to play with my materials, constantly adding and subtracting. I will often include abstract stencilling to add a sense of drama, and introduce rivets to add further interest. I also enjoy including text, whether stencilled or found words in magazines. Size: H:30 cm x W:30 cm Bon Appetit...

Calla Lily
By Charles Pachter
Located in Toronto, Ontario
Charles Pachter (b. 1942) is one of the most collected and cherished Canadian artists. His iconic, uplifting, and patriotic images have earned their place in the nation's museums and the Canadian art canon. The Barn, along with Queen Elizabeth and the Moose, forms a triad of icons that Charles Pachter has repeatedly visited over the course of his career. Completed in 2021, this exemplary painting introduces Pachter's flowers. This recent series focuses on an entirely new subject for the artist that started early on in the pandemic. Realized in a time of uncertainty and despair, this body of work is remarkably optimistic. As with the best of his work, Pachter's charming imagery presents a new narrative on Canadiana, this time detailing the diverse flora encountered in his close surroundings. This refreshing painting conveys the gentle curvature of the trumpet-shaped flower, its smooth surface illuminated against the stark black background that recalls Pachter's distinct graphic style. Pachter's work is represented in both public and private collections across Canada including the Art Gallery of Ontario, The Portrait Gallery of Canada, The Royal Ontario Museum, and the McMichael Gallery. In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Pachter holds the prestigious position of Officer of the Order of Canada and is also a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee medal. "Calla Lily...
