Gleb Alexandrovich Savinov was born in Ukraine and spent part of his childhood in Saratov. His father, Alexander Ivanovich Savinov (1881–1942), a talented painter, draftsman and teacher, was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1922 they moved from Saratov to Petrograd. In 1928-1930 Savinov started working in the studio of his father while still attending school. In 1934, after graduating from high school he enrolled at the painting department of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, where he studied with, among many others, Alexander Osmerkin. In 1940 Savinov graduated and married his classmate and talented artist Olga Bogaevskaya. This happy family and creative union lasted sixty years. Born on a farm in Polk County, Nebraska, during the famous blizzard of 1888, Augustus Dunbier became Nebraska's most prominent and widely traveled artist in the early to mid 20th century. Working until the year before his death at age 89, he painted landscapes, still life, and portraits in a style that others, but not he, labelled Impressionist. At age 10, he saw his first professional art work at the Trans-Mississippi Exposition in Omaha, and this exposure set the direction of his life. Wohlgemuth, Daniel (1876-1967), a son of Johannes Wohlgemuth of Albisheim an der Pfrim and Katharina (Krehbiel) Wohlgemuth of Weierhof, was born at Albisheim 17 April 1876, but reared by his uncle Johannes Krehbiel of Weierhof, studied art at Frankfurt and Strasbourg, and finally at the Art Academy in Munich under Franz von Stuck. His travels in Italy, Palestine, and Russia contributed to his development. His artistic work was done chiefly in his native Rhenish Hesse and the Palatinate (for a time living at Weierhof, later at Gundersheim near Worms), but also for a time in Munich and Berlin. Maestro Dobrovolskaya Marina Evgenievna
was born in 1986, in Kharkov. In 2009, she graduated from the GS faculty of the Kharkov National Academy of Municipal Economy with a degree in architecture.
Member of the Kharkov Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (graphics section) since 2018.
She took part in course for design and decoration. She practices techniques of decoupage, craquelure, painting on glass, modeling of polymer clay, drawing up fabric and floristic panels, felting. She is master in technique of sand animation. It works both in online animation and in the creation of original paintings made with sand on glass. She took part with sand animation in the annual charity evening held in London. Participant of numerous All-Ukrainian exhibitions and international open-airs. In 2010, she taught sand animation at the Beitdan Jewish Center (Kharkov).
In 2013, she took part in a drawing course at the Family Art Club Family Development Center, in 2014 she worked in a ceramic workshop (Kiev).
The peculiarity of the artist is in her individual manner of execution: Maestro Dobrovolskaya works with mixed technique of watercolors and pastels, which gives the work a feeling of hyper-realism. Portraits occupy a special place in her work, in which great attention is paid to detailing in order to convey the character of a person. In the technique of pencil graphics, as well as mixed (pencil with a liner), the artist depicts the city landscape - one of her favorite subjects, which is due to her training at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, under the guidance of remarkable teachers: N.I. Krivoruchko, V.P. Manokhin, V.A. Kodina, L.O. Bogdanova and others.

Rosemary Farrer, artists and printmaker sells with Wychwood Art online and in our art gallery in Oxfordshire. Rosemary paints in oils and also makes original prints. The prints are in no way copies of the paintings, they are conceived of, and made, as a response to the special and wonderful effects that can be achieved only through the various techniques of printmaking, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in aquatint and etching. Design, composition and the use of colour are what excite her. She spends a lot of time drawing and painting outside, back in the studio, she will distil these ideas into strong graphic woodcuts, and linos or subtly textured etchings. Recent monotypes draw together the threads of her different media, with their graphic shapes and rich painterly colours. Frederick B. Serger (given name Frederick Bedrick Sinaberger) was born in 1889 to a family of Jewish manufacturers in the village of Ivancice near Brno Moravia, a province of Czechoslovakia. Showing artistic talent at a young age, he attended art schools in Brno, Vienna, and Munich. During World War I, Serger joined the Austrian Army and served in the Balkans. Once his service ended, he traveled to Paris where he resumed his art training and eagerly joined the Ecole de Paris (School of Paris) artists’ movement. During this period, he was greatly influenced by the Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, and Expressionist movements.
While living in Paris, he met and married Helen Spitzer. Serger and his young wife moved from Paris to Scoczow, a city on the Polish-Czech border. They remained in Scoczow for 12 years and he continued to work as an artist, exhibiting in museums in Cracow and Warsaw. He also showed at the Paris Salon de Tuilleries and the Salon d’Automne with exhibitions protesting the French Academy’s Salon system. A high point in Serger’s career was an exhibition at the famed Bernheim-Jeune in Paris. The Bernheim-Jeune was known for displaying the artwork of premier artists such as Pablo Picasso and Paul Cezanne. Finally, in 1937, the City of Paris Museum purchased one of his paintings to be part of their collection.
During the onset of World War II, the Sergers moved several times, possibly in reaction to widespread Anti-Semitism during this period. They lived briefly in England, Panama, Guatemala, and Mexico. Finally, in 1941, they established permanent residence in Manhattan, New York. Serger set up a studio along 57th Street in Manhattan. Once again, he began painting prolifically and exhibiting his artwork in such prestigious galleries as Schoneman, Van Diemen-Lilienfeld and John Heller...
