"Lilacs" is an exquisite oil painting that captures the essence of a serene still life scene. The artist skillfully brings together the elements of nature, color, and composition to create a captivating visual experience. The focal point of the painting is a table adorned with two elegant brown vases, each proudly displaying a bouquet of vibrant lilacs. The artist's attention to detail is evident in the delicate depiction of the lilacs, their slender stems and lush, velvety petals rendered with meticulous brushwork. The lilacs' purple hues stand out against the neutral tones of the vases, creating a striking contrast and enhancing their natural beauty. The artist's careful use of light and shadow brings depth and dimension to the arrangement, imbuing the lilacs with a lifelike quality. The background of the painting is a soothing shade of blue, providing a harmonious backdrop to the still life. The blue hue evokes a sense of tranquility and adds a touch of coolness to the overall composition, enhancing the visual impact of the lilacs. The simplicity of the background allows the viewer's attention to be fully drawn to the intricate details of the vases and the delicate blossoms they hold. "Lilacs" is a testament to the artist's mastery of color and composition, showcasing a harmonious blend of earthy browns, vibrant purples, and serene blues. The painting exudes a sense of calm and elegance, inviting the viewer to appreciate the beauty of nature and the artistry of the human hand. With its timeless appeal and captivating charm, "Lilacs" stands as a testament to the enduring power of still life painting and the profound emotions it can evoke.

Still Life of an abundant vegetable garden harvest with onions, eggplant, cabbage and tomato
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lu Haskew 1921-2009
"Life is good to me. Being able to go to my studio five days weekly and paint for several hours, living in a supportive community, having family and friends who encourage me--all have contributed to helping me become an artist. Being fortunate to study with some of the artists I admire has kept me painting from the garden, people and my favorite things. With the support of galleries, teaching and doing demos, how could I do anything else? My goal is to try to be the best I can be by always being a student, looking for new ideas and stretching my horizons."
Upon retirement from a 33-year teaching career, Lu rented a studio in Loveland and began concentrating on
her oil and watercolor painting. Learning from artists she had followed and admired throughout the years
her painting became a full time career. Since 1992, she has studied with renowned painters Richard

complesso; come lui.

Vittorio Angini, Graziano Peretti, Fausto Ciotti, Ileana Della Matera, Loredana Bendini,
“Vittoriano”, Angini collabora attualmente all’importante progetto d’arte “In mostra con
Dalì”. I suoi quadri si trovano in collezioni private negli USA, Canada, Australia,
Nuova Zelanda, Sud Africa, Inghilterra, Irlanda.
In
I riverberi
So che sono state largamente
