About the Item

Stand Your Ground by McKenzie West is a 12 x 15 inch oil on canvas, capturing the historic Battle Line Boulder located on the Lexington Battle Green in Massachusetts. This beautifully rendered landscape honors the Minute Men Memorial, marking where Captain John Parker’s militia stood against British forces during the Battle of Lexington in 1775. West’s painting offers rich realism and reverence, with carefully detailed brushwork and a soft palette that evokes both dignity and courage. The engraved quote—“Don’t fire unless fired upon… Let it begin here”—resonates as a powerful symbol of American independence. Ideal for collectors of American historical art, Revolutionary War paintings, and New England landscapes. Perfect for those that love both American history and fine art. Signed by the artist and professionally presented, ready to hang.

Si Tu Disais
By Francis DiFronzo
Located in Fairfield, CT
Born in San Pedro, California in 1969, Francis DiFronzo has been painting and exhibiting his artwork in the United States for more than thirty years. "I discovered at a young age that art had the ability to transport me out of my world and into the lives of artists I admired. When I looked at paintings by Andrew Wyeth or Edward Hopper, I felt as though I was momentarily living in the worlds they created. I wanted to do the same thing. I wanted my work to have that power." After receiving his B.F.A in 1994 from California State University, Fullerton, DiFronzo moved to Philadelphia, PA where he continued his studies in drawing and painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. There he worked and learned under the guidance of artists Murray Dessner, Jan Baltzell, Sidney Goodman, Vincent Desiderio and Irving Petlin. Di Fronzo...

The Ruse
By Randall Mooers
Located in Fairfield, CT
My paintings begin with a serious sense of play, both in the staging and the creating of the compositions. It is at this beginning stage that I operate under the Dadaist dictate that “anything can be art”, and at the same time I seek out a balanced and harmonious composition by way of line, shape, and color. I work according to my whimsy, sometimes seeking to assert some form of narrative however personal or ambiguous, and other times I am simply satisfied with the hint of a human presence. Once I have my compositions the paintings then very quickly become about work, a very labor intensive work that forces me to focus my mind and slow things down (which I feel is relevant especially in this day and age of high-speed everything). A great amount of effort is spent on trying to get to the highest level of finish that is possible according to my current skill level. For inspiration I have drawn from the past four centuries of object specific paintings, from the ontbijtjes (laid tables) of the 17th Century Dutch masters such as Willem Kalf, Jan Davidsz de Heem, Abraham van Beijeren...
