Rob Brooks
Rob Brooks is a contemporary painter who brings Social Realism back to the forefront. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1962, Brooks has been a full time professional artist since 1983. Educated at the Art Institute of Boston, Brooks studied under Nathan Goldstein and received the Academic Achievement Award at his graduation. After graduating, he began a 14 year long career as a freelance illustrator. He was eventually asked to join Renard Represents of New York City, one of the illustration industry's most prestigious artist groups. Brooks created award-winning paintings used in advertising campaigns for clients such as AT&T, IBM and Microsoft, to name just a few. Brooks was commissioned to create paintings used for the covers of two issues of Der Spiegel, Germany's equivalent of Time Magazine. After moving to Cape Cod in the early 1990s, he spent more and more time concentrating on his fine art, painting outdoors and connecting with the beauty of the coast.

My connection to the island developed a deep concern with natural forms life-plants, shells, hills, trees, stones and water. My paintings create a path of self-discovery. Reassembling pieces together from memory and imagination using textures, patterns and transparent layers make the viewer question how far reality can be pushed before it will yield the powerful essence of what is seen.” Anne Harney is a Boston-based painter who received her BFA with Honors in painting from Mass College of Art and Design in 2011. Awards include George Nick...Category

- Uniform Language "Camo" 52 paintingsBy Stephanie PeekLocated in Burlingame, CAStephanie Peek's "Uniform Language" Camo paintings showcasing an assortment of worldwide camouflage (both historic and contemporary) from countries around the world. The complete installation includes 52 original works that are each 10 x 10 inches. Can be hung in an assortment of ways. The artwork comes with a template for installation as shown below. The series started following 9/11 with the bombing of the World Trade Center in NY. and continues to today. Stephanie Peek's "Uniform Language" is a constellation of small painting on alabaster-coated wood panels featuring camouflage patterns of nations worldwide. Peek’s fascination with these patterns stems from her observation of nature (including her studies of flowers, for which the artist is well known), and compositions of shapes and color relationships. When hung in the configuration shown, the overall dimension is 77 inches tall x 132 inches wide. The artwork can hang in a variety of configurations. Each camp painting is 10 x 10 inches. Fascinated by how various countries use camouflage patterns to represent and to disguise themselves and their military equipment, the artist explores how countries see themselves in this pattern language that speaks of power and fear, while also considering each painting a prayer for peace. Artist's statement, Early in the 20th century, the United States military adapted the nature studies of American painter Abbot Thayer...Category
