ABOUT THE ARTIST:
“We live at times with too much angst. I want my paintings to have a calming effect on the viewer. I do not paint with a center of interest. That to me makes a painting dull and ordinary.
I've had a love affair with the American landscape all my life. Raised in up state New York I experienced the orchards, lakes and wood landscapes: all that state had to offer. Texas and New Mexico revealed the splendor of the west and California showed me the coast and rolling, golden hills and Colorado seemed to have it all. The paintings I show are painted with great love.
I do not paint with a center of interest. That to me makes a painting dull and ordinary. The fact that my paintings are bought is the highest compliment."

Roy Wilce
Primarily known for his oil pastels, Wilce was a highly respected artist in fiber and oil paintings as well, demonstrating impeccable craftsmanship in each medium. A prolific artist, widely collected by both private and corporate collectors across the United States. His work is universally appealing containing comforting soft edges countered by bold use of color. His unique approach to the landscape was to capture its vastness through a build-up of thousands of small strokes. Strong compositions draw one in to better appreciate the subtleties. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lu Haskew 1921-2009
"Life is good to me. Being able to go to my studio five days weekly and paint for several hours, living in a supportive community, having family and friends who encourage me--all have contributed to helping me become an artist. Being fortunate to study with some of the artists I admire has kept me painting from the garden, people and my favorite things. With the support of galleries, teaching and doing demos, how could I do anything else? My goal is to try to be the best I can be by always being a student, looking for new ideas and stretching my horizons."
Upon retirement from a 33-year teaching career, Lu rented a studio in Loveland and began concentrating on her oil and watercolor painting. Learning from artists she had followed and admired throughout the years her painting became a full time career that lasted 17-years. Beginning in 1992, she studied with renowned painters Richard Schmid, Clyde Aspevig, Joyce Pike...

Joy Taylor’s paintings transform botany into a personal vision. Her recent series on canvas, playfully titled the “Boo-K” paintings, defy traditional still life depictions that often seek to tame and order the objects of the world. On the contrary, Taylor’s subjects are never still. Her floral forms have the crisp, clean qualities of cut paper; sharp, decisive lines slice through blocks of pure pigment to create defined edges of leaves, vines and blossoms. The colors are constructed as well as the form. Her exuberant palette of oranges, blues, magenta and green echo the complimentary colors favored by the Fauvists. Color is an element in and of itself in her work. This balance of sparkling color and form is irrepressible, at times disconcerting and even dangerous in its boldness.
In a series of original paintings on paper, Joy pairs down the form by focusing on a single bloom or leaf.
As a specimen under a microscope, Taylor dives into the crevices and details of each leaflet on this bright green Sweet...
