Sarah Warren
Flowery Pot contemporary floral inspired painting by artist Sarah Warren

2019

About the Item

Painted with acrylics on stretched canvas, using dyed silver leaf and mixed media to create a relief. Sarah wanted to experiment with creating a three dimensional look to the work and she has achieved a stunning result. The images don't quite do justice to the exquisite texture embedded in this artwork. ABOUT SARAH WARREN Sarah Warren was invited by the British Government to represent the UK in the Emirates during an International Artists Symposium, including an exhibition of paintings at the Royal Palace of Sharjah. Sarah's work ranges from landscapes, architecture, still life and carpets. She has supplied paintings for Royal Palaces, including the Sultan of Oman, the Ruler of Dubai, and the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia, with paintings commissioned for corporate buildings as well as private collectors and galleries in the Middle East. She has had paintings commissioned for the Sultan of Oman’s Opera House and 32 paintings commissioned for the King of Bahrain’s Palace. Sarah was invited to show paintings in an exhibition that visited Dubai, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi. She has also exhibited paintings in Sharjah, London (Catto Gallery), and a solo exhibition of paintings in Dubai (Hunar Gallery).

  • Hanging Garden by Ali Mourabet acrylic on canvas painting floral wall
    By Ali Mourabet
    Located in London, GB
Born in Damascus in 1951, Ali Mourabet has lived in Beirut with his family for the greater part of his life. An architect since 1976, he has a long-running passion for designing buildings, and as a professional artist since 1977, a love for depicting scenes from Lebanon, and this is reflected in much of his work. Regarding both architecture and painting as forms of art, Mourabet is never without a pencil or a paintbrush in his hand and to this day continues to experiment with new processes and techniques, especially in more recent years, having freed up more time to focus on his fine art practice. The consistent theme running through Mourabet’s captivating paintings is their extremely vibrant colour palette. With many of his works presenting simplistic geometric shapes and architectural forms and others depicting everyday life in his immediate surroundings, Mourabet is continuously seeking to explore different styles and techniques, while at the same time remaining faithful to the subjects closest to his heart. Timothy Warrington of the International Confederation of Art Critics said of Ali’s work: “Ali Mourabet is a true artist, possessing a rare ability to stimulate viewers as he conveys artistic ideas that are communicated and encapsulated as a direct consequence of an inner journey that explores the very essence of beauty through shape, colour and the essential relationship between forms. The artist’s broad and intricate cultural foundations stemming from architecture are apparent by virtue of assertive use of line and visual experimentations of mathematics, as well as the curious philosophical connections to diverse dimensions of art...

  • White Peonies from Covent Garden
    By Katharine Rowe
    Located in London, GB
This was the flower artist Katherine Rowe had in her wedding bouquet and so they have always had a special place in my heart. Despite being 'white' there is hardly any actual pure white in the painting but multiple blues and yellows and greens. Katharine Rowe is an English painter she graduated in Fine Art and History of Art at the University of Edinburgh in 1999 and spent a year studying at Université de la Sorbonne, Paris. Having spent a decade working in advertising Katharine felt the increasing need to be out of the office and with her paintbrush. The past 9 years have been dedicated to just that. Katharine is strongly motivated by colour and she often spends up to an hour mixing and preparing paints before turning to the canvas. Katharine is always inspired by her surroundings from the varied landscapes of...

    By Katharine Rowe

Katharine spent a long time mixing paint to reach the right level of smokiness and avoid any saccharine pink in these peonies. They seem to be quite solid but at the same time quite delicate, they are a joy to paint. • Autumnal Hydrangea Paniculata in a Celadon Jug painting by Jonquil Williamson
    By Jonquil Williamson
    Located in London, GB
Jonquil Williamson is known for her vibrant still lifes and rich tonal landscapes. Although her work is mostly representational, she allows the mark-making and textures created as she layers the paint, to inform the image. Of her work she shares, “like many still life painters, I find inspiration from taking everyday things and elevating to something beautiful and positive. I strive to create an atmosphere with my works; from the calmness and serenity of Morandi-inspired clusters of pots and vessels...
