Vintage Mid-Century Swedish Floral Still Life Oil Painting - Hyacinths

1950s

About the Item

HYACINTHS Size: 52 x 42 cm (including frame) Oil on Board An expressive and beautifully textured mid-century floral still life painting, executed in oil onto board. The composition centers around a bouquet of pink and white hyacinths, carefully arranged in a vase on a table and set against a contrasting coloured backdrop. Using a rich colour palette as well as swift and expressive brushstrokes, this still life exudes energy. The artist has also created areas of impasto, applying thick dabs of paint to execute the flowers to build up texture and evoke tactility. This oil on board is housed in a wide-profiled gilt frame. The painting is in excellent vintage condition, and the frame has very minor scuffs. Please note all of the artworks we sell are vintage and unless otherwise stated, their condition is typical for their age. This can sometimes include slight changes in colour, yellowing to the varnish, and minor bumps and bruises. We have tried to include as many close-up photos as possible. Should you need more photos or wish to ask us more questions regarding an item's condition, feel free to contact us, we are always happy to help.
