The print is hand-signed and numbered by the artist herself. Great-granddaughter of the world famous Henri Matisse, Sophie Matisse is a French-American artist from Cambridge, Massachusetts. After a brief stint at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston, Sophie decided to follow in her great grandfather's foot steps by attending the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Here she faced pressure to uphold her family's artistic reputation as well as the added difficulty of being taught in French.
