About the Item
"Shared Rest" - an absolutely charming, fabulously painted, oil-on-canvas painting of three, Jack Russel Terriers nestled together on a bench or sofa, swathed in green fabric. Framed in an elaborate hand carved and gilded frame. Signed and dated to 1894, by U.K. born artist, Walter Biddlecombe (1856-1938) whose rare work is known to be of the highest quality. He exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Hibernian Academy, and Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, from 1883-1886 before settling in Marseilles, France in 1895.
