About the Item
'Sea Garden II' is part of the 'Tutti Frutti' Series of paintings based on the study of rock pools at low tide. I enjoy the fact there is a time limit to working in the area with this subject. After each tide there are subtle changes within each rock pool. I sketch as part of the process to gather information and document the individual pools. Back in the studio the paintings are created using repeat motif, repetition of pattern, building up the works in layers to create a fluidity and focus on elements trapped in time between the layers. ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Amelia was born in Cincinnati in 1962 and stayed in the area until 1996 when she moved to Colorado. Amelia attended the Arts Academy of Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati.
