This work comes from the series Colour Kinesthesia. It derives from projections of colours over time, into corners and structures, where the blending of one colour into another, causes chromatic compositions in an impregnated space.
New York-based Norwegian multidisciplinary artist Anne Katrine Senstad combines installation, photography, video, and site- and time-specific art in her works. Sensorial aesthetics, transcendental artistic and philosophical practices, and social and political awareness are all themes in her work.
She earned her BFA Hons in Photography from the Parsons School of Design in New York and studied film at the New School for Social Research in New York."

Anne Senstad
Anne Katrine Senstad’s photographic art, since the 1990s, has focused on the phenomena of light, color, and perception, exploring abstraction, geometry, and minimalism as sensorial experiences. Drawing inspiration from Suprematist and Constructivist movements, and philosophers like Plato, her work conveys the internal realms of poetic beauty and the architecture of the experiential world. Her series, such as Color Kinesthesia and Universals Foldouts, shown at the 55th Venice Biennale, employ multi-layered techniques including the reuse of medium format color film negatives, animated projections, and film recaptures, capturing light and color in space. In Cosmosis Collages, Senstad layers color film negatives to create translucent spaces and new color combinations, projecting her inner vision onto the medium. Anne Katrine Senstad, a New York and Oslo-based Norwegian artist, explores the sensorial responses to light, color, and form through her multidisciplinary practice, which includes installation, video, photography, neon sculpture, and site-specific works. Educated at the University of California, Berkeley, and earning a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design, she has concentrated on the phenomena of perception, aesthetics, and the cognitive system since the 1990s.

Silent Echo II: abstract light & color photograph w/ silver, blue, red, & green
By Diane Lachman
Located in Bryn Mawr, PA
This is an archival photograph printed with Epson Ultra Chrome Pigmented Ink on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Rag paper with a 2 inch white border. It is part of the"Refracted World" series, and is from an edition of 50 prints. It is signed on the back..
Diane Lachman’s photographic pandemic project began in March 2020, when Covid 19 forced us to shelter at home. After a year of experimentation with the refraction of natural light through prisms, she created complex and vibrant images that reflect our experiences during these tumultuous times. By observing the change of the position and quality of light and shadow each day, she developed a new sense of the passage of time. Her photographs reflect the desolate days of this period as well as the bright days when we experienced hope. The "Silent Echo" series recalls the strange quiet and isolation she experienced during the shut down. The daily act of photographing the color and light gave her a sense of balance and purpose.
Lachman’s inventive abstract paintings and photographs emphasize the expressive power of color. Her work has been the subject of twelve solo shows. Most recently, an exhibition of her pandemic photography project: “Refracted World” was shown in July 2021 at Muse Gallery in Philadelphia. She participates in many juried and invitational group shows. Currently, Lachman is the acting director of Muse Gallery in Philadelphia where she has been a member since 2010. Her paintings are represented in numerous private and corporate collections, including Temple University School of Medicine, the Howard Gittis Student Center Art Collection at Temple, the Art Collection at Park Towne Place in Philadelphia, and the Lankenau Medical Center.
Lachman studied at Rhode Island School of Design and the Cleveland Institute of Art. She earned her BFA and MFA degrees at the University of Pennsylvania, where she taught drawing and color theory from 1993 to 2013. Her intuitive approach to her work complements her years of teaching Josef Albers’ “Interaction of...
