  • Corner No. 01 at the Guggenheim Museum
    By Kenji Aoki
    Located in New York, NY
Corner 2018 No.1, No.2, No.3 The origin of “space” 20 x 30 inches Platinum print Signed and numbered edition of 5 In our daily space recognition, information composed of multiple elements such as direction, distance, shape and size is perceived as space. The minimum element to visually perceive space is dots and lines. Mathematical “points and lines” are also the starting point of science, and are conceptual in common with the number 0 and do not exist as substances. This is because, even if it looks like a dots or a line, it looks like a “point” becomes a circle and a line becomes a surface. On the other hand, our naked eyes can “find” dots and lines from anywhere in our daily lives, which appear at the intersection of two surfaces. This work is a landscape that gives perspective to the “corners” that are familiar to you but are not appreciated. For me, “dots and lines” are the origin of space and the starting point of beauty. Taken with a 35mm digital camera inside the Guggenheim Museum in New York. The resolution of the photography was technically broken down, and the particles which appeared were printed by using the chemical elements platinum and palladium using...

  • Chasing The Wind
    By Keith Ladzinski
    Located in Boulder, CO
In 2015 I while on assignment for National Geographic for a story centered around Montana Culture, I was offered a chance to accompany a family of ranchers to photograph them relocating a herd of 125 horses from Winter to Summer pasture. Throughout the winter, this herd had been moved to lower elevation, some 50 miles south where they were mostly left to themselves to graze at their leisure. During this 6 month period of time the horses become somewhat feral, unruly and less willing to take direction, making for a long hard day or all involved. On horse back of their own, the cowboys drive the horses to higher elevation along a 50 mile network of trails and dirt road "getting out that winter energy" as it was described. I shot this motion panned photograph here as a small portion of the herd ran by thunderously. I could feel the ground quaking under their powerful hooves, even at my stance some 50 feet away. It was one of my favorite images from the assignment and I'm pleased to now offer this as a limited edition print in 3 different sizes. Printed at my studio in Boulder Colorado...
