Rachel Berkowitz
Reflection No. 6- Abstract Landscape Photograph on Metal Green+Blue+Purple

2020

About the Item

“Reflections No. 6” is part of a body of work called “Reflections” created by artist Rachel Berkowitz. This series is a performative, process-based series that resulted in the creation of these photographs. Before the creation, the artist's daily meditation drove the elaborate vantage points we see in the finished pieces. The photographs tug back and forth on the viewers' perception of realm and reality. With exasperated colors and saturation, it cultivates a sense of heightened existence. Photos included in the listing are of another work in the series printed on acrylic. We can also print on aluminum or print in the traditional manner. Additional sizes are available. This fleeting moment is the work context, where the mind can focus on psychologically enticing spaces for personal reflections and realizations. The photographs were taken daily for two months after meditation in nature. Spiritual growth plays a huge role in the performative aspect of the work, channeling meditative energy within the final product from its direct source, with vibrant colors and forms.”
