This image is 52 years old and yet still looks cutting-edge beautiful. New York City, 1971 is an image generationsahead of its time. Not just for its creative graphic use of color and design but because it was done during the analog period of photography without Photoshop or digital manipulation. Mitchell Funk pioneered color photography with work that dates back to the late 1960s. He is known for a variety of styles, including negative color, multiple exposures, radical use of bold colors and Sci-Fi photography.
Signed, dated lower and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, unframed, printed later and other sizes are available. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
