About the Item

New York City is renowned as a center of world-class Museums and tastemaker Art Galleries. However, some of the greatest art is street art made by non-formally trained folk artists. In "New York City Street Art: Literally," utilitarian street painting used to guide pedestrians forms an artful design with a vibrant palette. The image is dotted with an umbrella carrying New Yorkers and captured from a rooftop by Photographer Mitchell Funk. The resulting image is a stunning visual akin to Abstract Expressionism. Signed, dated and numbered, 3/15 recto, unframed, printed later, other size available. Printed Later on Hahnemuhle paper. Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum .
