About the Item

This striking monochromatic underwater fine art portrait captures celebrity Justin Jedlica in a moment of aquatic serenity. The high-contrast black and white treatment emphasizes the sculptural qualities of form, while countless air bubbles create a celestial atmosphere around the subject's distinctive features. Sher's composition continues the tradition of underwater portraiture as fine art photography, transforming an ordinary swimming moment into a meditation on identity and transformation. The circular sunglasses echo the surrounding bubbles, creating visual harmony that speaks to contemporary photography's exploration of personality and self-expression beneath the surface. Justin Jedlica, known internationally as "The Human Ken Doll," has become a prominent figure in discussions about body modification and self-expression. Through approximately 200 cosmetic procedures, Jedlica has transformed his appearance while becoming an advocate for personal choice and authenticity. His collaboration with underwater photographer Alex Sher represents a unique intersection of contemporary celebrity culture and fine art photography, demonstrating how modern portraiture can capture both physical transformation and inner identity in the ethereal underwater environment. Original gallery quality archival pigment print on archival paper signed by the artist, furnished with certificate of authenticity. Limited edition of 24, print #4 The photograph has been exhibited at: 2024 🇺🇸 Roth & Taylor Gallery (Los Angeles, United States) 2023 🇺🇸 Beverly Hills Art (Beverly Hills, United States) 2023 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Beverly Hills Art (Beverly Hills, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Art San Diego (San Diego, United States) 2022 🇺🇸 Spectrum (Miami, United States) 2021 🇺🇸 CadFab Gallery (Los Angeles, United States) 2021 🇺🇸 LA Art Show (Los Angeles, United States) 2019 🇺🇸 Selection (Los Angeles, United States) 2019 🇺🇸 Artexpo NY (New York, United States) 2016 🇺🇸 Bruce Lurie Gallery (Los Angeles, United States) Publications 2023 🇺🇸 Lens Magazine (US) 2023 🇫🇷 Fienfh (Paris, France) 2022 🇫🇷 Moevir (Paris, France) 2022 🇩🇰 Photohouse Magazine Aarhus (Denmark) Alex Sher is an award-winning American underwater fine art photographer internationally recognized for his distinctive depictions of feminine sensuality. Sher was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1962 and moved to the United States with his family in 1995. Sher started showing his photographs in the early nineties in Ukraine. Later in US he began experimenting with underwater photography and sharply moved toward figurative fine art. His latest artistic innovations blend figurative and abstract photography into forms that could be almost mistaken for abstract paintings. Sher’s photography began to attract extensive interest in 2015. To date, his works have been exhibited in London, Paris, New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and other major cities including the Louvre Museum in Paris. His first solo show was held in 2016 in Los Angeles by Bruce Lurie Gallery. Since his debut, Sher had seven exclusive exhibitions, participated in numerous group exhibitions and prominent art fairs. Sher's photographs are published in 79 magazines and book articles in 13 countries. His first photo book “Mermaids” has been published in 2018. Sher mastered the profession of underwater coaching. Bringing forth his technical and artistic innovations, he generously shares his techniques with his models and aspiring photographers.
