This beautiful black-and-white image was created in Milan in 1998. A model stands in front of a white background, her back turned towards the camera. She is wearing a transparent dress adorned with plantlike embroideries. Pearl necklaces are draped over her shoulders and around her wrists. The image is simple and graphic. The model's skin glows in the sun, becoming part of the jewelry.
Born in Mali and raised in Paris, Youma Diakite is one of the famous 90s Supermodels. She moved to Italy in 1998 and was a runway model for major fashion brands, including Armani, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana.
Bruno Bisang was born in 1952 and spent much of his youth in Ascona, a picturesque little town in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. When he was 19, he attended the School of Applied Arts for Photography in Zurich, which was followed by a photographic apprenticeship. Since 1979, Bruno Bisang has worked as a freelance photographer, first in Zurich and then in Milan and Munich. Now, he works between Milan, New York, Zurich, and Paris for a renowned clientele.
