About the Item
Touching the skin of the past is an extraordinary collection of Roman Statues captured with the ICM technique in order to make the marble skin like a truly human body. 'Touching the skin of the past I can feel the blood flow under the marble. Feel the warmth under the cold. And history rises up with a breath of lust'.
Artioli captures beauty through his camera, creating artistic, painterly images by intentionally moving the camera during long exposures. These images represent 'the impression' of a world in constant movement.

Luca Artioli
Luca Artioli is an artist, poet and photographer recognized in Europe and around the world, has worked for years in the most vital artistic circles of world culture, such as La Scala Opera House in Milan, The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami during Art Basel, Hermès in Paris. Artioli has evolved over the years as an artist who is appreciated for both his skill with the camera as well as the pen. He was born in Milan, but he has been living in Miami since 2008. In 2000, after receiving a Master in photography, he left the world of finance to follow his special vocation for light and poetry. In a few years, Artioli had published several books with Mondadori, the key publishing house in Italy, some of them translated in many languages. Artioli has had numerous photographic exhibitions around the world from Milan to Bombay, Dubai, Miami.

The sun reflects the soft water riples on a Model's nude chest. The lower half of her face is visible underwater, the upper half is hidden behind the reflections of her own body on the underside of the water's surface. The soft waves create texture throughout the whole image. The soft black and grey shades make the image appear almost abstract at first sight, inviting the viewer to step closer and explore.
