Series: Silhouette Photogram "Bunny Photogram this is a Unique piece which is 18 by 18 inches and only one has ever or could ever be made A photogram is an image made by setting objects directly onto a light-sensitive surface and exposing it to light. This cameraless photography technique gives a sort of a photographic picture, but it displays tones in order opposite from the one seen in reality. The usual result is a negative shadow image that shows variations in tone that depends upon the transparency of the objects used. Areas of the paper that have received no light appear white; those exposed for a shorter time or through transparent or semi-transparent objects appear grey,[1] while fully exposed areas are black in the final print. The technique is sometimes called cameraless photography. It was used by Man Ray in his exploration of rayographs. Other artists who have experimented with the technique include László Moholy-Nagy, Christian Schad (who called them ""Schadographs""), Imogen Cunningham and Pablo Picasso.[5] Variations of the technique have also been used for scientific purposes, in shadowgraph studies of flow in transparent media and in high-speed Schlieren photography, and in the medical X-Ray. A technique made famous by Man Ray which have been known in auction to fetch nearly 1 million dollars. Known for his controversial and volatile and off-handed images, representative of his trademark edgy, and often risqué, style which frequently draws criticism. his photographs capture much of the most over-the-top, brutal aspects of contemporary celebrity culture he has become a creative tour de force in the photography and film industries. Born in Jacksonville, Florida and now recognized as “Hollywood’s favorite photographer”, contemporary artist and filmmaker Tyler Shields’ evolution from the “bad boy of photography” with his controversial blood-stained photographic series featuring Lindsay Lohan to the more subtle color-explosive poesy of his Chromatic series, and his work featuring Francesca Eastwood (Clint’s daughter) to the fire-starting bag-sawing antics of a $100,00 Hermes Birkin Bag, to the stoic magic surrealism of Suspense, a project shot in the New Mexico desert featuring Franseca Eastwood, Emma Roberts and Lydia Hearst, Mr. Shield’s art captures the emergence of an artist and his medium into a more mature overture and output.
