"Eclipsed in Time" suggests a moment of transition, obscurity, or transformation—much like an eclipse where something is temporarily veiled yet still present. The title reflects the way the figure in the image appears blurred, partially concealed behind a translucent barrier, as if dissolving or emerging through time itself. The cascading sand adds to this idea, evoking themes of impermanence, memory, and the passage of time. It suggests a fleeting presence, a state of in-between, caught between solid and ethereal, past and present.
Captured using a large format camera and traditional black-and-white film, this image embodies Ugne’s fascination with the tension between fragility and strength, concealment and revelation. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta 308 gsm fine art paper, the photograph’s rich tonal depth and texture invite close observation. Each print in this limited edition of 20 is hand-numbered, signed in the bottom right corner, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Artist Biography:
Ugne is a Lithuanian fine art photographer based in London. Her work explores the transient nature of existence, the interplay of light and form, and the subtle relationships between the human figure and its surrounding elements. Through analog processes and meticulous printmaking, she creates images that feel both timeless and ephemeral.

Ugne Pouwell is a fine art photographer originally from Lithuania. Today she makes most of her creative work in London, United Kingdom. Her main focus is black and white landscape and floral photography. Mainly using a large format 4x5 Linhof camera to express the timeless beauty of the subject in focus. Many of the influences come from 20th-century photography. She processes her work from start to finish: film processing, scanning and printing. Her work is mainly printed on the world's oldest paper-producing houses Hahnemühle (Germany) and Awagami (Japan) and some more exclusive work on organic linen and cotton fabrics. Paper and canvas choices are mainly based on organic feeling also adding more special feeling to her work. 2016 Ugne finished her BSc studies at University of Westminster Photography and Digital imaging technologies. Continuing her practice by applying scientific knowledge to her everyday work in fine art photography.
