The view of the Pont de l'Université in Lyon, France, was taken from the roof of The Galerie Lafayette Department Store, dated March 16, 1927.

About:
The University Bridge is a bridge in France located in Lyon and crosses the Rhône River. It was built on the site of a former ferry to serve the university buildings erected between 1876 and 1898. When it was inaugurated in 1903, the structure was called the Pont des Faculties, but it was quickly renamed the Pont de l'Université. Its design is the work of engineers Jean Résal, Paul Hinnovait, and Ernest Fabrègue. The Société des Forges de Franche-Comté carried out the construction.
Damaged in 1944, a temporary wooden bridge was put in place. The bridge was definitively reopened in 1947. The bridge is 267.50 m long and 20 m wide and is made up of three metal arches cast in Longwy and resting on stone piles from Porcieu-Amblagnieu.
