About the Item
Photographer Christopher Petsos shot this 2016 contemporary image of Solna Centrum Metro in Stockholm, one of the most striking metro stations in the world because it features a bright red cavernous ceiling.
Christopher Petsos is a New York City based photographer and artist. He is known for capturing Light, pattern, texture, color and motion across the urban realm. Petsos believes that we see things through a filter of the self, a camera records the physical details of a scene, but our human eyes and sub-conscious self are the interpreters that complete our view of reality.
In his own words:
“Throughout the process, I stay faithful to the underlying truth of the scene. My work inhabits the space between literal depiction and my emotional Impression of the moment. The result is hyper-reality: facts imbued with feeling.” In this image, Christopher Petsos stands true to his words and brilliantly captures the light, pattern, texture, color and motion across the urban realm and painted it in his own colors to give the viewer a new perspective.
Limited Numbered Edition (# 4 thru 10 metal prints) produced only in 40” x 60” size and only on 1¼" flush mount metal black frame, high gloss with sharp square corners, and wire hanger, attached and signed by Christopher Petsos. The papery enclosures are like parchment through which the light filters with a pale gold delicacy." The beauty of the pieces printed on glass are truly revealed when seen in the flesh, which shimmer in the daylight and change constantly as different light sources are reflected off the print. "My fascination with colour goes back a long way. One of my earliest creative recollections has me sitting at a table endlessly mixing paints in a valiant but ultimately futile attempt to 'invent a new colour'. - Earth Remains #45Located in Sante Fe, NMThis photograph is representative of two related series of mine that deal with humanity's impact on and relationship with the earth. This relationship is not sustainable. Lately, I have begun to dream of our tortured earth with the remains of our hubris drifting through space, mined to extinction. This work is an attempt to tear through the ugliness of the world we have made, through the blindness of our voracious appetite to the vastness beyond, where beauty cares not for our perception of it. As Robinson Jeffers wrote: “The beauty of things was born before eyes and sufficient to itself; the heartbreaking beauty/ Will remain when there is no heart to break for it.” -- William LeschCategory

- Normandy BeachesBy Jacques BeneichLocated in Miami, FLThis photography is a mix of a fashion editorial photo shoot, approaching the theme of family: a story about twins, footsteps on a low tide timeless beach of the Independence Day. The Hebrew letters referring to the Jewish History say «To my Mother an my Father » The artwork of Jacques Beneich is an ever renewed exploration of his passion for fashion photography, black and white movies, and music, re-visited with an explosion of colors as a tribute to life. While working as a fashion photographer with the most well known magazines and companies, Jacques Beneich started working as a portraitist. In 1989 he signed one of the most famous series of portraits of some of the greatest jazz and blues musicians...Category
