This work of Albert Watson depicts the model Leslie Winer in a shoot for the famous designer Yohji Yamamoto. The brand is known for its simple clothing with striking silhouettes, stark contrasts, and high-quality fabrics. The abstract image captures all those qualities. The simple composition of the model in front of a structured wall, the stark black and white contrast, leaves the silhouette of the dress and huge tulle collar as the focus of the image. Black fabric hanging off the wall and covering the model's face adds a sense of abstraction and weirdness without diminishing the elegance of the image.
