Over the last 10,000 years, the planet has lost over 1/3rd of its forests, some 5 Million square miles, half of that since the 1900’s. Tree’s are responsible for 3 of every 10 breaths of air we inhale, and provide shelter and habitat for countless species. Simply put, a world without trees would be bleak and inhospitable for terrestrial animals in a whole, they bring balance, beauty and stability to life here. Over the last century humans have cut down half of the planets rainforests for lumber and agricultural habitat. As heat index and drought conditions continue to increase, many trees are facing an ever increased threat of wild fire and access to fresh water.
