Carre Otis was a successful Model and Actress of the 1980s and 90s. This Nude Portrait of her was taken by Antoine Verglas in 2001 and is part of a Series. The Image was taken underwater. The Model has her side turned towards the camera and her face tilted up towards the surface. Her light skin stands out against the turquoise pool. The Sun reflects soft water ripples onto her body, evoking memories of hot summer days and long nights at the beach.
Shooting Stephanie Seymour, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford at home in very personal portraits just as they were reaching celebrity status was Antoine Verglas’ first big break, and indicative of the style which has become the Verglas signature. Antoine Verglas
Antoine Verglas was born in Paris, France. He began his career on the other side of the camera, working as the host on a popular French television show after graduating from France’s prestigious E.S.C School of Business. Verglas then had the idea that would be his entree to the fast-paced world of fashion photography. His photographs have appeared internationally in the editions of Elle, Vogue, GQ, Esquire, Sports Illustrated, just to name a few. Starting with such big names, Verglas has to work hard to keep moving forward in a highly competitive field.
