Candice CMC has created this incredible image "Donut Kiss" in her trademark style using donuts. It is the perfect work of art for couples in love, especially as Valentine's Day is just around the corner.
This one of a kind photographic arrangement is printed on 100% rag paper. Paper size 27x37" frame size measures 34x44".
The art consists of hundreds of extremely sharp images of donuts, photographed by Candice CMC and arranged by her according to their tones, colors, values and intensity to create the final image. Candice CMC uses the donuts as her palette, the same as if she was creating the portrait with oil paints. She chooses the correct placement of just the right donut for each area of the art to form the lips. The art was created to appear as a pop art image of hundreds of random donuts when viewed up close. The WOW factor comes when you realize that they create a very realistic image when viewed from a distance or through your phone and you see the donuts small and the portrait appears. Collectors are amazed by this and can't understand how it's done.

Candice CMC
At a distance, the portraits created by Candice CMC are merely Pop art-informed depictions of iconic celebrities and tributes to the work of revered artists such as Picasso and Vermeer. A closer look, however, reveals a careful arrangement of sweets and delicious treats. The New York-based artist’s pieces are made up of hundreds of sharply focused images of everyone’s favorite coffee accompaniment: doughnuts.
In what could be considered doughnut Pointillism with a meticulous approach reminiscent of Chuck Close’s work, each pastry in Candice CMC’s portraits is photographed separately and then studied for its color, tone and intensity. The artist then places each image in an evenly spaced grid to make up the desired portrait.
Some of Candice CMC's large-scale compositions include images of over 1,000 doughnuts with glazes, sprinkles, frosting and other tantalizing toppings. Over the years, she has focused on a wide range of subjects such as Albert Einstein, Marylin Monroe, Batman villain the Joker and Vincent van Gogh.
Candice CMC’s work has been presented at fairs and galleries around the United States, including Claude’s Gallery in Southampton, Art Market Hamptons and the White Room Gallery in Bridgehampton. Her work is held in corporate and private collections all over the world.
