Douglas Kirkland was born in 1934 in Toronto and lives currently with his wife in California. The star photographer became famous very early, especially for his photos of Marilyn Monroe taken in 1961 for the 25th anniversary issue of the Look magazine. The well-known series "An Evening with Marilyn Monroe" is legendary until today and shows the icon very sensual and seductive - with only a silk sheet between her naked body and Kirklands cameralens.
