This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, it is presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame fitted with anti-reflective UV70% glass. It is signed and numbered on reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Handmade to order.
This artwork is available in other sizes and pairs well with Richard Heeps' other artworks in our 1stdibs store.
This artworks can also be purchased unframed or with standard glass.
Following on from the hugely successful ‘Vinyl Collection’, Natasha Heidler & Richard Heeps have collaborated again, drawing from the childhood past time of stamp collecting. Their unique darkroom process, like an x-ray, reveals the detailed make up of the stamp, which is not possible to see in the physical object. Nearly all take the appearance of a woven tapestry, intricate patterns and artworks from the 19th & 20th Century, are brought to life to be appreciated in the present day. And with the practice of stamp collecting enjoyed by todays older generation when they were children, the exotic imagery takes you to a far off land in a time when overseas travel was limited, the post marks make a physical connection with unknown people around the world. The collection is a documentary of history, dated postmarks connect the images to a time unimaginable and with these artworks you can carry on the British Psyche of ‘collecting’ building your own Heidler & Heeps Stamp Collection, with the pieces that speak to you. Interestingly you will notice the imperfections and some of the writing and numbers in reverse and colours quite different to an actual stamp, in stamp collecting that is what makes a stamp valuable, small runs made with errors, but I’m sure you will agree that is what makes them all the more intriguingly beautiful.

Original circa 1970 travel poster breathtaking skyline of Hong Kong
Located in PARIS, FR
This original circa 1970 travel poster captures the breathtaking skyline of Hong Kong's Central District at dusk, showcasing the city's vibrant energy as lights illuminate Victoria Harbour. The high-rise buildings, bustling waterfront, and iconic junks dotting the harbor embody Hong Kong’s rapid urbanization and economic boom during the mid-20th century.
The poster design features a striking aerial photograph, framed by a muted beige border that enhances the dramatic cityscape. At the top, bold red Chinese calligraphy spells out "香港" (Hong Kong), providing an elegant cultural touch. The bottom is anchored by a strong, modern black “HONG KONG” typography, reinforcing the city’s bold and cosmopolitan identity.
This vintage piece reflects Hong Kong’s transformation into a global financial powerhouse during the 1970s. Central District, the heart of the city’s business and commercial hub, became a symbol of progress, attracting international trade, banking, and luxury developments.
A true collector’s item, this poster is a timeless representation of Hong Kong’s skyline before its modern skyscraper boom. It encapsulates the charm of old Hong Kong...
