About the Item

- Dad, Color Photography, Celebrity Photography, Human FiguresLocated in Milano, ITA limited edition Giclee print on Baryta paper 315 gr. from the "Paparazzi" series. “These images have a deceptive character which contradicts the sensationalism they would like to convey” (Mazaccio & Drowilal). The starting point of the series “Paparazzi” was a collection of celebrities’ pictures from their everyday activities such as shopping and jogging, and golfing, but all shot by the paparazzi. After collecting them from magazines and the internet, the duo gathered the images in the same picture allowing them “for the sensational side to be neutralized, so there was a shift from the «scoop» of catching a celebrity, to an anonymous crowd.”(Mazaccio & Drowilal). Working principally with photography and collage, Mazaccio & Drowilal deconstruct multiple facets of contemporary visual culture through their process of gathering and arranging mass-media images. Their visual practice and aesthetic approach are heavily influenced by the Internet’s new iconographies and digital culture. - 'Towards your Heart' Large scale Photo. Triptych Ocean, Sea, Blue, Beach CottageBy Sophia MilliganLocated in Penzance, GB'Towards Your Heart' Limited edition archival photographic triptych. Unframed, hand signed and numbered (Edition number 3 of 25) _________________ It is not the size Nor power from which you fly But towards your heart The wild Atlantic explodes in raw abandon, given scale in this daring dance by the graceful flight of the sea bird. Sophia's poetic photographs are an exploration of the balance in all things: in the sensual interplay of light and shadow; in wild raw energy and serene stillness; in chaos and harmony; in the enduring and the effervescent. They are a contemplation of the awareness that everything in existence is temporary, they speak of the ephemeral nature of all things. Moments, feelings, experiences cherished and appreciated in their impermanence, for that is where the beauty comes from. 'I work in a balancing act of control and freedom; of discipline and guidance, whilst simultaneously relinquishing all authority and throwing the odds to the winds, to chance encounters and the unexpected'. Photographic triptych: each of three parts measuring 30 x 20 inches. Each printing is bespoke to order and can be printed on a single paper 30 x 60 inches. Please contact me for further information, or send a message with your order.
