Michel Comte
Beauty and Beast II - Tatjana Jumping with Zebra, Fine Art Photography, 1996

1996

About the Item

Semi Nude Model in Zebra printed pants jumping in the desert with a Zebra, photographed by Michel Comte as part of the Series 'Beauty and the Beast' in 1996. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. With his Series 'Beauty and the Beast,' Michel Comte created eye-catching images of beautiful supermodels and rare wild animals. This piece depicts a blonde model in zebra-print pants jumping parallel to the camera. She has her side turned towards the camera and her legs stretched apart mid-jump. The desert sand around her reflects the bright sunlight, contrasting the clear blue sky above. A zebra is running behind the model, mirroring her movement. The saturated colors of the broiling desert against the piercing blue of the clear sky or the cool palette of an intimate black-and-white portrait, Michel Comte can do it all. The Swiss star photographer has made his mark on fashion and celebrity photography since his first international advertising campaign for Karl Lagerfeld in 1979. Comte’s oeuvre truly is the work of a homme modern – capturing the most celebrated figures of the century, from boxers to supermodels, such as Carla Bruni or Helena Christensen. His portraits, nudes, or fashion campaigns always come exceptionally close to his subjects and create an intimate setting for the viewer. Underwater Study #2615 - Underwater Portrait in Pink, Fine Art Photography, 2005
By Howard Schatz
Located in Vienna, AT
Underwater Study #2615 - Model dressed in pink and orange butterfly Dress underwater, photographed by Howard Schatz for his Series Underwater Studies in 2005. All prints are limited edition. Available in multiple sizes. High-end framing on request. All prints are done and signed by the artist. The collector receives an additional certificate of authenticity from the gallery. Howard Schatz’s Underwater Study #2615 presents a striking and surreal portrayal of underwater beauty and fashion. The photograph features a model floating gracefully beneath the surface, adorned in a vibrant pink and orange flower dress. A giant orange butterfly, perched at the cleavage, adds an element of whimsical extravagance. The model holds her skirt down as she floats, her face turned towards the camera with bright, dramatic makeup, yet her gaze is directed downward, creating a sense of introspection. The entirely black background contrasts sharply with the vivid colors of the dress and butterfly, while the surrounding air bubbles reflect light, adding a subtle sparkle to the scene. Schatz’s expert lighting and composition turn this underwater moment into a mesmerizing visual spectacle, blending high fashion with the ethereal beauty of the aquatic environment. Underwater Study #2615 invites viewers to immerse themselves in a world where elegance meets the surreal, captured in a moment of enchanting stillness. Opulent flower crowns, intertwined bodies, and decadent dinners hosted in underwater worlds – Howard Schatz’s imagery is marked by grandeur and abundance. Transgressing genres and motives, Schatz approaches portraits, nature photography, and the moving body in all its forms with an outburst of passion and energy. Liquid colors, extravagant perspectives, and daring details surprise the onlooker at every corner. Succulent vegetation and airy fabrics bleed into magical compositions. Howard Schatz is an award-winning photographer living in New York City and widely exhibited worldwide. With twenty books of photographs to his credit, Schatz's wide-ranging artistic oeuvre includes studies of actors, dancers, athletes, portraiture, and a world of underwater imagery. His photographs have appeared in countless magazines around the globe, including a running series in Vanity Fair, along with the covers of TIME, Sports Illustrated, US News...

The unseen need not be lost. Looking past the obvious and focusing on the lesser-known perspective introduces a parallel universe. Through using domestic objects and the human form in our environment, I work to orchestrate unique visions that are meticulously balanced in the ultimate pursuit of equilibrium. My goal is to inspire all those who see my work to begin looking at the world around them in a new way, evolving their view to uncover the undiscovered beauty in everyday things. color photography staged photography seascape photography pool photography
