About the Item

This image is from the series "Kroma". Pascal Goet looks for flowers, butterflies and other insect of items from the microworlds to attract our attention to the beauty of nature. Pascal GOET, French artist photographer, devotes his art to magnifying Life in all its forms, with a particular fascination for the fabulously small and a colorist predilection. This passion was born very early in his youth through Nature observation and grown stronger with his confrontation with exceptional biotopes in countries with names evocative of adventures; India, Malaysia, Borneo, Peru, Guyana, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe… He collaborates with museums, private collectors, as well as with the scientific community. KROMA is a journey into the intimacy of matter. It is an initiatory journey of our mind, confronted with visual enigmas, ready for a treasure hunt mark out with fantastical portraits and oneiric visions. Projected in registers such as primitive art or human symbolism, they build a cultural bridge between our world and the fabulously small, abolishing the time of a glance, the preconceptions that fill up our imagination to replace them with a reflection on the Beauty and the absolute necessity to preserve a Holy Nature. No color is changed nor the shapes of the subjects. The work of light and shadow transfigures them. Simple digital enhancement: parts of the subjects are faded away or erased. An authenticity is vital for my involvement in this work. The large size prints, proposed in limited editions, creates a genuine encounter between the viewer and these amazing personages, people of a parallel world. These kinds of portraits projected in registers such as Tribal Art or human symbolic, built a cultural bridge, abolishing the time at a glance, the prejudices that fill our imagination. Focusing on the wonders of the KROMA world is a pretty good way to work for their protection.
