About the Item
Efstathiadis' sculptural photography is a long and painstaking process of researching themes of ecology, health, war and sustainability in the metropolis and its rural outskirts in the post-pandemic era.
His works are shaped from his interest in architecture, housing and preservation of communities and often re-envision life in the future after a cataclysmic tragedy.The "Explosion" series (2022 to present) portray a series of real explosions taking place in a rural yet hardly identifiable environment. The works are built first on small-scale models in the studio and then in life-size installations on site and are based on distorted memories of war and play.
