'Life on Mars' series is part of my Desert Living Project, which encompasses all aspects of organic living including growing your own organic food, self sustainability and regarding the beauty and personality of farm animals and their welfare in an endeavor to connect human needs back to the sources of living. The full circle of Industrialization returns to the homestead.
In "Life on Mars (My Desert Living Project)", Stefanie Schneider explores the otherworldly landscape of the desert and the peculiar creatures that inhabit it. Her photograph “Hatching" captures a moment of new life emerging in this barren environment. The delicate and vulnerable chick, surrounded by the artificial warmth and light of the incubator, stands in contrast to the harsh and unforgiving desert outside. Through her abstract and dreamlike approach, Schneider invites the viewer to reflect on the fragility and resilience of life in extreme conditions, and to ponder the possibility of finding new forms of existence in the most unexpected places.
