This contemporary photograph beautifully captures a grand perspective of a terraced stone sided dry dock. Empty and awaiting a large ship to enter the watercock, this photograph's gorgeous sepia tones respond to the rich green of the plants growing between the cracks of the walls and steps.

This photograph is from Stephen Mallon's series: "The Reefing of USS Radford." which charts the final stages of the decommissioned US. Navy Spruance-class Destroyer's life and the destructive beauty of preparing it for reefing. Stephen Mallon's photographs chronicle and examine recycling processes in the U.S. and globally.
