Yellow Tulip 19, Color Photograph, Limited Edition, Framed, Botanical, Floral

About the Item

Yellow Tulip 19, archival pigment print photograph, printed on Fine Art paper by Tim Nighswander. It is 32x24, framed in a white frame to 40x32 with a UV glass It is a limited edition of 15, signed and numbered. The fine detail makes this stunning pink tulip appear to be a painting. His career in photography began in college at Kent State University and has led him from photojournalism and award-winning commercial photography to his current status as a sought-after photographer in the specialized field of photographing fine art. For many years he has photographed comprehensive art collections through the US and this knowledge and exposure to art, has given Nighswander great understanding of themes that have been a consistent part of his personal imagery. This botanical series of photographs dance and focus on the details and textures of each flower. They are all limited editions, printed on fine art paper. According to Nighswander, "While one flower at the peak of perfection is virtually indistinguishable from the next, the imperfections brought on by age make them truly unique; a form that has never existed before and will never appear again. In a sense, by choosing a singular subject isolated in the frame and using the tools of photography to reveal its character, I approach these as one would a portrait – trying to capture an image that looks beyond the surface to reveal an essential truth. It is the subject that dictates how it needs to be shot. These images are not manipulated or forced to meet any preconceived idea but rather strive through light, line, form, color, and gesture to show an inner beauty. In the end I see these as metaphors for the human condition; that while life is both fragile and ephemeral, there is beauty to be found at every stage. Through the transition from youth to old age one can read a full range of emotions; from pride, sadness and pathos to joy, grace and resolve."

    By Tim Platt
    Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
An original signed archival pigment print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm paper by English artist Tim Platt titled ‘ Macaw #4 ‘ Limited edition of 3 Signed by Tim Platt lower right and numbered lower left, delivered with certificates of authenticity, unframed Green-Winged Macaws are monogamous and pair for life. They mate once in a lifetime, remaining and travelling together even out of the breeding season. Their beaks are powerful, allowing them to easily crack hard shelled nuts like the Brazil nut. The beak of the Green-Winged macaw can generate a pressure of 2000 pounds per square inch. Animal photography is about being ready for the split-second moment when it happens. This takes a certain amount of production. The studio set-up, the lighting and the camera settings can all be planned but the magic moment is seldom planned. It just happens naturally and you need to be prepared. Whether you capture it will depend on patience, concentration and reflex. This is an Archival Pigment print on fiber based paper ( Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm , Acid- and lignin-free, Museum quality for highest age resistance and a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper). The inks used are also known for their longevity. Signed + numbered by artist with certificate of authenticity. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. Archival pigment print available sizes ( Image size , the white margin is not counted) : 106 x 69 cm / 41.5 x 27” - Edition of 10 152.4 cm x 101.63 cm / 60 x 39,76 in - Edition of 3 Tim Platt specialises in creating minimal stylised studio portraits of birds and animals, which he describes as beauty shots. A frozen moment in time allows us to observe the world in suspension and will often reveal a graphic beauty that might otherwise flash by in the blink of an eye and remain unnoticed. Whether observing the magnified eye of a bullfrog, or an eagle captured at several thousandths of a second in mid-flight, he is fascinated by the level of detail that can be revealed in a large format print. It is the stillness of a photograph that gives us time to pause and marvel at the myriad levels of detail in Nature’s grand design and allows us to reflect on the wonderful diversity of life on Earth. • Macaw #3- Animal signed limited edition bird contemporary fine art print, Blue
    By Tim Platt
    Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Macaw #3 - Signed limited edition archival pigment print - Edition of 10 The Green-Winged Macaw can be mistaken for a Scarlet Macaw as from the front it is almost entirely red. It is distinguished by a greenish band of feathers below the shoulders and wings. The green band transitions to dark blue on the wings, and there is light blue on the rump and on the tail feathers. This is seldom more true than when capturing birds in flight. The human eye can’t process the speed at which birds fly. The only way we can fully appreciate the beauty of feathered flight is to watch it in slow motion or freeze it at several thousandths of a second. This is an Archival Pigment print on fiber based paper ( Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm , Acid- and lignin-free, Museum quality for highest age resistance and a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper).
