Similar to the travel logs of the ancient explorers, in her diaries, Castello portrays the landscapes and settings witnessed during several visits to the Colombian tropics, along with texts that describe what she saw and experienced there. Unconcerned with producing a reliable account of the places visited, these journals are instead a cartographic guide to the artist’s sensations in those places. Unable to separate the experience from what is perceived, her lens becomes a true superposition of imagination and reality.
Cowboys, dinosaurs, cars, surfers, mountains, stones, palm trees... At first glance, these elements don't seem to have much in common, but as one's gaze delves deeper into the details it is possible to step inside a universe that seems nearer. The protagonists come alive and the separate elements form part of a nature suggesting autonomy as if these landscapes or scenarios actually existed and had been photographed.

Paloma Castello born 1988 Bogotá, Colombia.
Use her work to bring life to a different narrative to an object’s past. She is interested in playing with memory and relating it to the present, creating an atmosphere between reality and fiction. Her family and social background have a powerful influence on her work. She grows up surrounded by objects and anecdotes inherited from her ancestors, those objects inspire endless surreal stories. Her work emerges from these experiences; they are evidence of her “auto-fiction”.
"Paloma Castello presents to us a nostalgia-filled body of work. The collection represents the soul of her proposal: inherited objects discovered or found that have become the tip of the iceberg of her past. These are elements she collects, recollects, and then classifies following a method that frames her anachronic attitude that proves as evidence of the youth of her art.
She also demonstrates that the experimentations on herself are common in an artist who’s just beginning her career. Without a doubt, this resource, valid and true becomes the road that determines the experimental character of the author.

Paloma Castello
Castello's “Exotic Delirium” installation where the artist pays tribute to the constant hybridization and miscegenation, to the richness that springs from the intersection of different universes, to the possibility of cohabitation and the need for adaptation, and to the landscape as a historical and dynamic unit... Dreams in which reality and fiction are interwoven, since, as Michel Foucault put it: "There is the possibility of making fiction work in truth, of inducing the effects of truth through fictional discourse, and from this truthful discourse to arouse, manufacture, something that does not yet exist, in other words, create fiction." ___________________________________

New York City, Cloud, Contemporary Color Fine Art Photography
By Roberta Fineberg
Located in New york, NY
For the pastel blue and white photograph “Cloud” the artist Roberta Fineberg’s attention and equilibrium remained anchored on an anthropomorphic cloud during an unusual springtime (2020) in New York. With the soul of the City laid bare, birds sang louder than usual outside city dwellers’ windows. Sunlight illuminated the empty streets, formerly bustling. Nature reigned.
A contemporary color photograph, Cloud, 2020 by Roberta Fineberg is 16" x 20" (sheet size) an archival pigment print on baryta paper in an edition of 5. Photograph is signed by the artist.

Artist Bio:
As a visual artist, Roberta Fineberg (RF) focuses on the themes of serendipity, inventiveness, and the development of ideas for her photography, video, installations, works on paper, and painting. Drawn to experimentation, she explores diverse mediums and concepts such as the ephemeral (Butterfly Series), stolen moments (documentary photography), play, timelessness, the enduring, and the significance of matter.
RF, living in New York City, began her career as an editorial photographer while studying in Paris. In France she contributed both photography and writing to publications, landing a column (photos and text) with The Saturday Review while exhibiting photographs in public spaces. Roberta Fineberg’s freelance photography appeared in Le Monde, Jeune Afrique, Paris Match, L’Officiel Femme, Ms, Weltwoche, Vanguardia, among others with images licensed through stock agencies. Photographs were selected for cover art at W.W. Norton, St. Martin’s Press, Harcourt, Bookspan, Simon & Schuster, etc. Print Regional Design Annual New York (2003) awarded her for book jacket photography for If Wishes Were Horses. In 1997 Macmillan published City Riders: A Story of Riding and Friendship her first book of black-and-white photographs and a story about three teenage girls in the 1990s who rode horses at the now-defunct Claremont Riding Academy and oldest stable in New York City.
In 2023, RF created an interactive installation, works on paper on the female body, in a public space. In July 2022, Fineberg’s Double Helix was included in a Sotheby’s auction in New York City and exhibited in the preview show Contemporary Discoveries. Selected exhibitions include Time Gallery New York (2022), Phyllis Harriman Gallery New York studio shows (2020, 2022), CADAF online art...
