'Purgatory' by David Yarrow is a beautifully cinematic work. The centerpiece, a historic locomotive, is surrounded by characters straight out of a Wild West movie, oldtimer cars, and a wooden railway station. The snowy hills in the background pose a stark contrast against the steam power of industrialization: "This was a time when humans were made to feel small, both by the grandeur of the untamed scenery and the scale of life's challenges. I therefore set up this historical tableau with the intent of glorifying the steam train and the backdrop without necessarily deprioritising the cast." Yarrow says about the historic Wild West theme of the project.
