"James Bond Playing Golf on the Moon" is one of O'Neill's most famous works. While filming "Diamonds Are Forever" in 1971, O'Neill and Sean Connery wandered onto a deserted film set in Pinewood Studios in London. There, they took one of the most iconic shots of on-set photography.
James Bond finally gets revenge for the murder of his wife (, which was killed in the movie before) and believes Blofeld has sunk in the moor. His next mission leads him to a ring of diamond smugglers. To expose them, he assumes the role of a smuggler and makes a shocking discovery: the head of the smuggling gang is his arch-enemy, Blofeld, who was believed dead. Blofeld is in the process of creating a double of himself and isn't pleased when Bond interferes.
The legendary Faye Dunaway relaxing by the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel the day after the Oscars, the Beatles in a small-town manner before their big breakthrough, or the legendary Brigitte Bardot in a cheeky cowboy outfit – Terry O'Neill was an absolute titan of fine art photography. Everyone of rank and name eventually made it before his lens, from the Royals to Frank Sinatra and the supermodel lineup of the 90s.
Terry O'Neill (1938-2019) was indeed one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century. His candid style helped define the Swinging Sixties look and brought a new intimacy to celebrity photography.

Terry O'Neill
Terry O’Neill was one of the world’s most collected photographers, with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars, he photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades.
O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world.
No other photographer embraced the span of fame as O'Neill had, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig.
O’Neill photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963 and pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton and Chuck Berry. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers.
