Aditya Dicky Singh was an active member of a small band of experts, proactively ensuring the health of the Tiger population in the Park and at the same time the survival of the smaller communities whose livelihoods depend on the same land. Through his lens he documented generations of families of Tigers, learning behaviours and understanding their role in the wider context of the Forest. His knowledge was vast, not only of big cats but the other flora and fauna that co-exist in this special place.
This tender artwork shows a small troop of backlit, Grey Langur monkeys resting on a wall on the shores of a lake at sunset. Photographed in Ranthambhore National park in India it beautifully demonstrates Dicky's expertise and the knowledge he had of the subject and his tools; his capture of the natural light in this images is breathtaking. The young Langur monkeys are happy to be looked after by any of the adult females in their troop. This scene is like a large extended family where the young move from Mother to Aunt to Sister; where all the females join together to take care of the young.
Dicky’s images have enthralled many and have given him a following worldwide. Institutions and individuals alike would seek out his knowledge on wildlife and habitats. He lent his expertise to BBC, National Geographic and many very well-known wildlife photographers.
