About the Item

Edition 2/15 Archival pigment print “Water’s Edge” a collection of photos by Marian Crostic defines the power of the ocean and the land which borders it. Having spent much of her life as an aquatic nomad living on boats with her family, Marian is drawn to the ocean. The smells, textures and endless horizons are her source of inspiration. Haunting, beautiful, and etheric, she bears witness to the temporary designs formed by the forces of nature. Marian Crostic (born Newport Beach, California) is a Venice Beach-based artist. She is best-known for her photography of landscapes and seascapes. Crostic made the career change from the fashion world to photography over a decade ago. Turning her creativity from fabrics towards imagery her creative vision started taking shape during her morning walks along Venice Beach. To this day she continues to capture images of the ocean in a seemingly infinite number of ways.

Archival Pigment Print Edition of 5 Miami Skin is one of the few “Still photo” project realized only in Black and White. It’s not a traditional collection of photos about the architecture of Miami and Miami Beach. It’s rather a quick journey between its own skin from the Art Deco District to the modern skyline of our days. Stripes, circles, squares, reflections show only some details of important buildings but they all have the power to arise emotions and unexpected shapes and volumes inside us. A final touch is reserved for nature skin from the ocean to the tropical vegetation. You need now to make an effort of imagination to discover and compose all pictures and eventually frame it in your own mind. _________________ Luca Artioli, an artist, poet and photographer recognized in Europe and around the world, has worked for years in the most vital artistic circles of world culture, such as La Scala Opera House in Milan, The Wolfsonian Museum in Miami during Art Basel, Hermès in Paris...
