About the Item
The crown of the Empire State Building is illuminated with bright yellows, oranges and blues. The appeal of this work lies not in the World's Most Iconic Building being lit in dramatic light and color. But that the colors scheme of the building echos the colors of the sky almost exactly. The sky and the building are collaborating to produce an in sync image of togetherness. Man and nature show their best colors. Signed and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, Dated on verso, other sizes available, unframed, printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time-Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others.
