About the Item

East 42nd Street glows with a deep red from the afterglow of Manhattanhenge. One-point perspective adds drama with converging lines culminating at a vanishing point at the Hudson River. In the middle distance, the Illuminated Crown of the Chrysler Building glows but from internal lighting. This is a magic moment with multiple light sources. With its meticulous composition and perfect pitch of color, the present image provides the experience of Manhattanhenge in a heightened form. Photographer Mitchell Funk has approached on-location street photography with the same precision and lighting that is used in studio photography. Signed dated and numbered 2/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed and printed later. This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
