Wherever you look, you see the Chrysler Building, which is particularly true from the Lower East Side. Street Photograph Mitchell Funk isolates a red pre-war parking sign from a busy street scene with a long lens. It pops out from the background while adjacent to the out-of-focus spire of the Chrysler Building and an old light post. Although taken in 2006, the image captures the feel of Old New York.
Signed dated lower right, numbered on lr recto. 3/15 printed later, unframed. other sizes available. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
