Reuben Wu
Reuben Wu was born in Liverpool, England, in 1975. He trained in Industrial Design at Sheffield Hallam University and received his Master of Science from University of Liverpool in 1998, initially working as an industrial designer, before venturing into photography in the early 2000s.
Today Wu is considered a leading artist in the digital art space, a multidisciplinary visionary utilizing photography and the concept of time and space to explore the intersection of technology, nature and human perception.
The ongoing projects Lux Noctis and Aeroglyphs depict landscapes unbound by time and space, influenced by ideas of planetary exploration, classic chiaroscuro painting and science fiction.
With a background in visual arts and music, Wu's work transcends traditional boundaries, seamlessly blending the realms of photography and conceptual art. Through his camera lens, landscapes are transformed into surreal backdrops challenging our notions of perception and reality.
Informed by longtime experimentation with advanced photographic techniques, drones and nocturnal light-painting, Wu’s photographs capture ethereal scenes of profound beauty often going unnoticed in the natural world.
Wu's work is a testament to the awe-inspiring power of nature and the potential of an artistic vision. Each photograph is a journey into the unknown, inviting viewers to contemplate their place within the vastness of the cosmos. With a keen eye for composition and a deep appreciation for the sublime, Reuben Wu creates photographs that are both visually stunning and conceptually mesmerizing.
Reuben Wu's work is held in private and public collections worldwide - including the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA.
Wu currently lives in Chicago and continues to travel to remote parts of the world for artistic inspiration.

Artist Biography - Krantz occupies a unique place in the history of contemporary art for his imagery blending western landscape photography with the figure of the cowboy as depicted and romanticized in American popular culture. The technical underpinning of his work was established when he studied with Ansel Adams and Paul Caponigro, but perhaps more importantly, Krantz’s work reflects a dictum that he learned from Adams: “Technical proficiency leads to artistic freedom.” His range and versatility are his forte, working with ease in demanding and ever-changing conditions. If Krantz’s work looks familiar, it is not surprising. Krantz, had been documenting the cinematic vistas of the American West for 20 years on commercial assignments and these much published images caught the eye of appropriation artist, Richard Prince, known for re-photographing advertisements and presenting the resulting images in a new “conceptual” context. Prince’s most famous series is his large scale reproductions of the cowboy images...Category
