Reuben Wu
Reuben Wu was born in Liverpool, England, in 1975. He trained in Industrial Design at Sheffield Hallam University and received his Master of Science from University of Liverpool in 1998, initially working as an industrial designer, before venturing into photography in the early 2000s.
Today Wu is considered a leading artist in the digital art space, a multidisciplinary visionary utilizing photography and the concept of time and space to explore the intersection of technology, nature and human perception.
The ongoing projects Lux Noctis and Aeroglyphs depict landscapes unbound by time and space, influenced by ideas of planetary exploration, classic chiaroscuro painting and science fiction.
With a background in visual arts and music, Wu's work transcends traditional boundaries, seamlessly blending the realms of photography and conceptual art. Through his camera lens, landscapes are transformed into surreal backdrops challenging our notions of perception and reality.
Informed by longtime experimentation with advanced photographic techniques, drones and nocturnal light-painting, Wu’s photographs capture ethereal scenes of profound beauty often going unnoticed in the natural world.
Wu's work is a testament to the awe-inspiring power of nature and the potential of an artistic vision. Each photograph is a journey into the unknown, inviting viewers to contemplate their place within the vastness of the cosmos. With a keen eye for composition and a deep appreciation for the sublime, Reuben Wu creates photographs that are both visually stunning and conceptually mesmerizing.
Reuben Wu's work is held in private and public collections worldwide - including the permanent collections of the Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA.
Wu currently lives in Chicago and continues to travel to remote parts of the world for artistic inspiration.

Price Upon Request - Lightning/Cotton Field, limited edition photograph, archival, signedBy Mitch DobrownerLocated in Sante Fe, NMLightning/Cotton Field, limited edition photograph, archival, signed The adrenaline of seeing Mother Nature during some of her finest moments will be ingrained in me forever. It is a humbling experience - and I feel fortunate to have witnessed her power and grandeur over the past 12 years. My experiences are hard to describe in words During this last trip (July 2021) we traveled over 6400 miles in 10 days crossing through 10 different states - all in my quest/passion to photograph these storm systems. But this time the events of the last year made me more aware, opened my eyes wider, and had a different effect on me. The effects of Climate Change have become obvious. The current patterns are changing and they are accelerating faster than anyone realized or predicted. Just over the past decade, the characteristics of the Jet Stream and the Gulf Stream have changed. Pandemics, droughts, devastating heatwaves, wildfires, massive floods, and rising oceans are accelerating. As I sit here in my house in Lone Pine, CA in 103-degree heat I can hardly see the outlines of Lone Pine Peak and Mount Whitney...Category
