Steven Jenkins writes: “[This body of work was photographed] in the sand dunes that hug the shore of Provincetown, Massachusetts – historically a site of amorous, anonymous coupling among gay men…. Yamrus’ eerily beautiful black-and-white photographs commemorate the fallen dead who once populated this landscape of furtive sexual escapade. At the same time, Yamrus’ eloquent images of bodies stilled in dappled sunlight remind us, the still-standing witnesses, that intimacy is vital, and that we must accept its conflicting consequence if we are to discover, for the first or one-hundredth time, what it means to live life fully in the adult world.” Frank Yamrus has been exhibiting his work internationally for over twenty years, with his photographs represented in numerous public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Worcester Art Museum, Massachusetts; and the Denver Art Museum; among others.

David Bowie, Iggy Pop & Lou Reed, London's Dorchester Hotel, 1972 by Mick Rock

Located in Culver City, CA
David Bowie, Iggy Pop & Lou Reed, London's Dorchester Hotel, 1972 by Mick Rock Edition: 29/50 Signed and numbered by Mick Rock. Medium: Silver gelatin limited edition photographic print on paper Size framed: 27" x 33" inch "It was a press conference at the Dorchester Hotel in London. RCA Records had flown a bunch of American journalists to London in July 1972 to promote David’s upcoming US tour and the release of his Ziggy Stardust album. The only thing I remember was Lou saying: “This will be a pretty picture!” When Mick Rock first met David Bowie, he had previously met and photographed both Iggy Pop and Lou Reed, so there was an immediate bond formed...
