About the Item

Digital C-print (Edition of 11) Signed, dated, and numbered, verso This photograph is offered by ClampArt, located in New York City. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. Mark Yamrus originally intended the self portraits in his series, “I Feel Lucky,” to address body image – the classic middle age spread: the growing gut, the lines in the face, the dropping jowls, etc. However, as the series progressed, it quickly slipped into a deeper psychological mode. Each photograph is based on a pivotal moment in Yamrus’ life, ranging from adolescence to middle age, and how that moment, or the memory of that moment, influenced the person Yamrus is today. Also, generally speaking, each photograph is inspired by and constructed from another image – whether a famous one, a family snapshot, or a stumbled-upon JPEG from a random website. Frank Yamrus has been exhibiting his work internationally for over twenty years, with his photographs represented in numerous public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; the Worcester Art Museum, Massachusetts; and the Denver Art Museum; among others.
