About the Item

Image size: 70x55 cm 12 Limited Editions + 2 Artist Proofs Platinum Massive Wengé, Passe-Partout + Museum Glass frame size: 110x95 cm Evocative, sensual and voluptuous, Marc Lagrange's work celebrates beauty and pleasure. With a predilection for nudes and portraits, he created luxurious and timeless settings, where eroticism and intimacy play a central part. Building trust and chemistry with his models, Lagrange was daring but never crosses into mere titillation. He got them to reveal parts of themselves in a trusting climate, transforming the photo shoot as the ultimate performance act. Combining the glamour of classic Hollywood with the sensibility of an Old Master painting, all his alluring heroines seem at ease and approachable and yet just tantalizingly out of reach. Lagrange's work has been praised by critics and is still actively collected worldwide. Having showcased his photographs through countless solo exhibitions throughout the world and published seven books under his name (Polarized in 2009, Marc Lagrange 20, XXML The Book in 2011, Diamonds & Pearls in 2013, Senza Parole in 2016 and Chocolate in 2019), Lagrange has made a name for himself as one of the most prominent photographer of the early XXIst century. Born in Congo in 1957, Marc Lagrange lived and worked mostly in Antwerp, in Belgium. He passed away in Tenerife in December 2015.

Terry O'Neill - Frank Sinatra on the Boardwalk, (Lifetime Platinum Print) 1968
By Terry O'Neill
Located in Greenwich, CT
Francis Albert Sinatra was an American singer, actor, and producer who was one of the most popular and influential musical artists of the 20th century. He is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 150 million records worldwide. Sinatra forged a highly successful career as a film actor. After winning an Academy Award for From Here to Eternity (1953). He appeared in various musicals, starring alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Gene Kelly in On the Town (1949) and Grace Kelly in High Society (1956). “This was the first time I ever saw Frank and I was astonished by the mere power of his presence, mesmerizing the crowd as he walked casually past.” – Terry O’Neill This picture was taken on the first day of filming in 1968, as singer and actor Frank Sinatra walked along the boardwalk from his hotel at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, with his body double and entourage to the set of ‘The Lady in Cement’. Sinatra was filming Lady in Cement in which he starred alongside Raquel Welch, as private investigator Tony Rome. Terry O'Neill recalls "I just didn't know how to go about photographing Sinatra at the hotel or what was the best way to approach him. He suddenly appeared around the corner of the boardwalk with his bodyguards and I just captured the moment." Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars he has photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades. O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world. No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig and many other of your favorite celerities, models and famous political figures, royalty and fashion iconic names in fashion. He photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were still struggling young bands in 1963, pioneered backstage reportage photography with David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and many more. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers. All Fine Art...
