About the Item

In the present image, we see people engaged in more than just a moment of fleeting pleasure. This tightly packed group of mostly tourists exhibits a profound level of joy and well-being. In other words, we are viewing true happiness. What could be the explanation? These folks are not at a fun venue like Disneyland or being entertained by an uproarious comedian. What could be the reason? It has to be that they are lovers of art. More specifically, the Art Deco splendor of New York's most iconic building's interior. Can beautiful art cultivate a profound sense of happiness? Next time you are feeling down, take a stroll through the lobby of the Chrysler Building. The image is part of a new epic exhibition, Mitchell Funk Photographs The Chrysler Building for 50 Years. The Chrysler Building is one of the most photographed buildings in the world. Yet Mitchell Funk's photographs of it are anything but a tourist snapshot. For over 50 years, Funk has been celebrating and rediscovering it visually in a way that exemplifies the innovative spirit of its creators. The work is signed dated and numbered 3/15 lower right recto, with other sizes available, and it's unframed and printed later.
